Nicole Denise White is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. She earned her BFA in Interarts Performance at the University of Michigan, where she studied in the schools of Music, Theatre & Dance and Art & Design. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Niki attended Dreyfoos School of the Arts for theatre. Today, she is a filmmaker, theatre creative, writer, painter, director, and performer: living somewhere between a Swiss Army Knife and a Jack of All Trades means she enters artistic processes hollistically- able to communicate and collaborate between the technical, visual, and performance side of theatre, film, or any artistic creation.
She currently works in the NYU Tisch Drama Production Office and in the art department for Nickelodeon's NFL Slimetime, along with being a freelance scenic painter for theatre and film.
Her latest short film, Cycle, was selected and screened at The Big Apple Film Festival, Nevada Women’s Film Festival, Grand Rapids Film Festival, East Lansing Film Festival, and BreakOut Media Festival in LA. Earlier this year, YouTube channel Film Shortage selected Cycle to premiere on International Women's Day.
She received numerous grants for her experimental autobiographical short film, Disrupted, which she wrote and performed in. This piece is her passion as she continues to develop its next theatrical phase. (more info on FILM page)
Her visual art has been featured in exhibitions, publications, and in public ad campaigns. She is devoted to her personal artistic practice, constantly building and creating, along with her commissioned work.
