Nicole Denise White (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY, with a focus in film, theatre, and visual art. In 2022, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Interarts Performance. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Nicole attended Dreyfoos School of the Arts for theatre where she expanded from her foundation of performing on stage to the pursuit of technical theatre and visual arts. Her diverse background has given her a unique perspective and a distinct eye for incorporating various artistic practices into her work. Nicole is known for her versatility in exploring different mediums and has been hailed as a "jack of all trades" for her ability to move between and combine artistic forms.
Nicole values collaboration and enjoys her ability to work with a wide array of people from differing fields. Her foundation being in theatre means her work is often connected to the frame of a proscenium or within the bounds of a canvas using beauty as a form of attention. She cherishes the preciousness of life and sees creative expression as a means of celebrating it. Her feminist ideologies and academic studies instilled a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, highlighting the importance of marginalized voices within artistic spaces. Nicole's latest films tackle often-stigmatized topics such as suicide, disordered eating, and abortion. Through her art, she aims to bring awareness to these sensitive issues and provide a new perspective.
